The goals of the program will be to:
Promote healthy lifestyles and habits among employees
Reduce health risks like obesity, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol
Decrease workplace stress and improve mental health
Increase productivity, engagement, and job satisfaction
Working directly with your onsite wellness coordinator to manage the program
To accomplish these goals, I propose we implement the following:
Virtual or Onsite (depending on location) fitness classes like yoga, sound healing, meditation, work productivity
Healthy eating programs with nutritionists offering advice and workshops
Weight loss challenges, contests, and incentives
Mindfulness and meditation sessions
Ergonomic workstation assessments
An Employee Assistance Program providing counseling for personal issues
Regular biometric screenings to identify health risks
The costs of this program can be kept reasonable by utilizing an EAP provider. The benefits make the investment worthwhile. You can expect to see reductions in health insurance premiums and claims costs over time. But more importantly, you will have healthier, more engaged and productive employees. This improves recruitment, retention, company culture, and your reputation as a top employer.
Implementing a robust corporate wellness program has the potential to significantly benefit the wellbeing and performance of our most valuable asset - your employees. This ultimately translates into better business results.
